About STRIVE®
Strategies and Therapies for Reducing Ischemic and Vascular Events (STRIVE®)
is a comprehensive medical education initiative with the goal of optimizing the management of
acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and ischemic stroke. Dr. Valentin Fuster, the Chair of
STRIVE®, leads an interdisciplinary Scientific Committee of experts in developing
and updating evidence-based content for CME/CE distinguished lectures (Grand Rounds), live workshops,
teleconferences, audio and video programs, Internet webcasts, and other communication modalities.
All STRIVE® activities are supported by educational grants from the Bristol-Myers
Squibb/Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Partnership. Most activities are also supported by educational grants from sanofi-aventis U.S. Inc.
The intended audiences for STRIVE® activities are:
- Physicians - Cardiologists, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, critical care physicians, emergency department physicians, hospitalists,
interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, neurologists, and
primary care physicians
- Nurses (coronary care, cath-lab, crical care, nurse practitioners)

- Associated health care professionals - dietitians, exercise physiologists, physician
assistants, quality assuarance managers, and rehabilitation staff
The STRIVE® education initiative not only updates clinicians on the latest
developments in acute coronary syndrome and stroke, but also provides the tools and techniques
(through "critical pathways") to apply evidence-based medicine in daily clinical practice.
STRIVE® is an education
initiative of the Network for Continuing Medical Education (NCME). NCME is an independent,
full-service, ACCME-accredited medical communications company that has been providing medical
education to physicians since 1965.
