ACS Critical Pathways Teleconferences

Program Description

January, February, March, and April 2009

The STRIVE® ACS Critical Pathways Group monthly teleconference series continues in 2009 with timely, practical information that will help you optimize care for your patients with ACS. On January 21, Dr. Cannon describes the new ACC/AHA clinical performance measures for ACS and helps you assess your readiness to meet these new benchmarks. On February 11, Dr. Fonarow keeps pace with RACE (Reperfusion of Acute Myocardial Infarction in North Carolina Emergency Departments)—a study that provides innovative strategies to improve time-to-reperfusion in STEMI. Dr. Cannon returns on March 18 with a discussion of AHA’s Mission: Lifeline, a new plan for improving outcomes and quality of care for STEMI patients. The April 9 teleconference, hosted by Dr. Cannon, will outline the latest interventions for improving medication adherence in the older ACS patient.

May, June, July, and August 2009

The STRIVE Critical Pathways teleconference series continues through the summer of 2009 with three new timely reports. On June 10, Dr. Cannon shares practical advice on implementing the new ACC/AHA Performance Test Measure on antithrombotic dosing adjustment. Recent national registry data suggest that excess dosing in patients with ACS is common.

Does it make a difference in outcomes if a patient is admitted to the hospital on a weekday or a weekend day? Dr. Fonarow addresses this question with the latest data on July 8. On a similar note, Dr. Cannon hosts the August 12 event and looks at differences in care and outcomes for ACS based on patient gender. Don’t miss the 2009 summer series - coming soon to your hospital, office, home, or wherever your travels take you.

September, October, and December 2009

The STRIVE ACS Critical Pathways Group Monthly teleconference series continues with highlights from three major cardiology conferences. On September 23, Dr. Cannon discusses advances in cardiology presented at the ESC Congress 2009. On October 14, Dr. Fonarow reports on advances in coronary interventions from TCT 2009. On December 2, Dr. Fonarow wraps up this year's programs with a discussion of the latest news and clinical trials presented at the AHA Scientific Sessions 2009.
